Modern Chitose City
Photos from Allan Cooper and Phil Peters

Modern day Chitose: Paved streets, sidewalks, KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Seven Eleven.
The building on the right is a shopping mall with a food court with Baskin-Robbins and Mister Donut plus many stores.

Sidewalks are marked for bicyclists and walkers. Very few motorcycles now.

Bridge over the river. There are usually plantings all around the city.

Convenience stores are all over the city.

Fast food all over. The city is very clean and you won't find a car with a dent in it.

Victoria Station...no longer in the states. Looks like a Big Boy sign.

The Post Office is very modern.

Pachinko parlors still abound but now with the addition of slots.

Nice fresh donuts from Mister Donut located in the food court of the mall.

Of course we had to try them out. Phil and Kisun Lux with Phil Peters

A food court wouldn't be complete without ice cream.

More tasty dishes in the food court.

More of the modern day buildings in Chitose

The city has really changed.

Remember this building? http://www.asachitose.com/ChitoseThenandNow.html  Much cleaner now.

The clean, clear Chitose River with modern buildings around it.

We can't forget the Bar District. Not open during the day time.

Look familiar???

On the left is the Bar Nana.

Wel Come

More of the district.

The bar district is not as big as it used to be. Streets are all paved.

We had a great time in Chitose. The people couldn't have treated us any better than they did.
